[p r o j e c t s] Wisteria Arbor

Project:

This project involved the complete reconstruction of an arbor for a client whose original structure had fallen into disrepair due to timber rot. The old arbor had become a hazard and eyesore in the garden, so we set out to not only restore it but also enhance its design to ensure greater stability and visual appeal.

For the rebuild, rough-sawn Douglas fir was chosen, known for its strength and natural beauty. This choice gives the arbor a rugged texture and warmth. Large diameter 8 × 8 timbers were used for the posts, which not only provide excellent structural stability but also add a sense of presence to the structure.

The focus was on achieving a balance between functionality and appearance, allowing the arbor to serve as both a useful structure and a decorative element.

This thoughtful transformation has significantly improved the outdoor experience for my client, making the arbor a focal point in the garden, while fitting perfectly into its surroundings.

I take pride in my craftsmanship and commitment to quality, ensuring the carpentry used in each structure I create, whether through repair or reconstruction, is built to last and truly enhances its surroundings.
